Twitter is a powerful tool. It's so powerful that we still won't call it by its new name, despite it having one for years now. We just know how much influence the name Twitter has had in our lives, and we're not willing to give it up yet. It's probably one of the most important tools of communication developed in our lifetime. I bet this is what it felt like when Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press all those years ago. They were probably skeptical at first, but then quickly understood that it would change the world that they lived in forever. They couldn't anticipate how, just that everything would eventually be different. 

That's exactly what happened to us. Twitter went from a place to make dumb jokes to a place where important news happens... and where you make dumb jokes. The dumb jokes part of it has never gone away. Because what if what are humans if not, enjoyers of stupid stuff? I don't mean that pejoratively. I mean that as a compliment.
